Memorial Day’s true origin: Southern reconciliation

Memorial Day originated in the post-Civil War South when women decorated graves of both Confederate and Union soldiers. General Logan later adopted the tradition nationwide, promoting reconciliation. This beautiful act of honoring all fallen soldiers spread quickly to the North.
