Former AP reporter who sued for discrimination dies at 89

Former AP reporter Marlene Louise Johnson, 89, died after suing the wire service for race and gender discrimination. Her 1973 lawsuit led to affirmative action plans boosting hiring of female, Black, and Hispanic journalists. She later worked at the Washington Times.
