CoreCivic sells two California detention centers for $1.5 billion

CoreCivic sold two California ICE detention centers to DHS for $1.5 billion, netting $1.1 billion. It will keep operating both facilities under existing contracts. The federal government aims to expand detention capacity while reducing reliance on private prisons.
