Red Sox debut cut short by wrist injury

Curtis Mead exited his Red Sox debut with a left wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch. X-rays were negative, and manager Chad Tracy expressed optimism. Mead, acquired from Washington, will undergo further tests Tuesday.
