Two giant pandas, Qing Bao and Bao Li, made their public debut at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington DC, creating "pandamonium." The pandas arrived from China last fall, becoming the first to come to DC in 24 years. The zoo has been working with Chinese scientists for over 50 years to conserve the species, resulting in the reclassification of giant pandas from "endangered" to "vulnerable" in 2016.
