Around 300 FDA employees, including scientists reviewing Musk's Neuralink, were fired and then rehired after Musk's DOGE cuts. Some FDA roles are funded by medical device companies. DOGE also fired and rehired nuclear specialists who oversee America's nuclear weapons in a cost-cutting move.
