A 12-year-old boy with a perforated bowel was airlifted from a Carnival cruise ship by the US Air Force, with his mother sharing a frightening experience. The helicopters and planes dispatched from Florida performed mid-air refueling to reach the ship 400 miles off the North Carolina coast.
