German right-wing politician Heinrich Koch was stabbed in Mannheim after confronting someone removing posters. Days earlier, a police officer was killed during an anti-Islam rally. The attacker, a 25-year-old from Afghanistan, was shot and hospitalized. German officials condemned the violence.
